During or after November 9th - Their recent game in the series is "Black Ops". The worst game developer of all time. Totally ruined the Call of Duty series. You're only good for Nazi Zombies and barely that now. Nobody likes how anal you are about your small patches of stuff that make the game better, but not fixing your fail at the corner system.
PS I'm trading it in soon. Treyarch fan"Im going to Play some Black Ops " Normal Person "I traded that game in, i was tired of getting patches every day" Treyarch fan "your probably just mad because you suck" normal person "No Im mad because of how much Treyarch Sucks". Complete and total failure. Treyarch fucking blows. Cannot earn a killstreak reward by ketting kills with another killstreak reward 2. Cannot carry shotguns as secondary 3. It is a downside because of how little material there is, a few maps, few guns, and a very short campaign.
Because the game had a garbage story that alienated the fanbase. The revelation confirmed that Black Ops, Modern Warfare and Warzone are set in the same universe and timeline. The appearance of Kravchenko and Zakhaev in Zombies finally links the four stories together. Although Infinity Ward had struggled in recent years, the reboot Call of Duty: Modern Warfare showed the company still able to push out a story worthy of the Call of Duty name.
Then, Activision sucker-punched Infinity Ward and gave them the finger. So now we only have Treyarch, which are working on the title. While EA receives a ton of flak, I at least have to give them props for getting behind Battlefield 3 to introduce something slightly different than what we've been receiving from shooters, that's not to mention that it was a big step in a different direction from what we received with the Bad Company series, so the engine didn't feel worn out and terribly rote, which is kind of what happened to Call of Duty.
Most gamers just kind of feel that the series has diverged into glorified-expansion territory. And while I agree with Vondehaar that given the limitation of today's console hardware we can't expect much more from an engine than what we're receiving in terms of maintaining a certain level of graphics fidelity while also maintaining the kind of gameplay that it does, it doesn't mean the devs have to keep graphics a priority if they really wanted to explore new gameplay elements.
Nevertheless, while gamers can't expect much more from what Activision can squeeze out of consoles using the tech that they're using, it doesn't mean gamers have to sit around and acquiesce to the repetitive outings.
