Twin insanity aside, the last few moments of the episode — and the show — echo its beginning. After police take Alex into custody, the scene flashes to a sleepover where high school friends, who all resemble each of the Liars in some way, wake up to find two of the girls missing. The last lines are almost identical to lines said by the original Liars in the first season.
I think I heard her scream. I still care about 'Pretty Little Liars' finale, even though I gave up on the show. The girls, meanwhile, continue to receive texts from A. They later learn that he did kill himself but the note was forged by A. While attempting to uncover the identity of A, the Liars also find out about the N.
Club, a group containing Ian, Jason, and Garrett. The N. Jenna is invested in making sure the N. Club stays a secret, because they possess video of her forcing her stepbrother Toby into a romantic relationship. They then figure out that A is Mona with occasional help from Lucas , and Mona checks into Radley for treatment.
After Mona goes to Radley to deal with her obsession with the Liars, the girls try to figure out whether or not Garrett was really the person who killed Ali. Spencer also briefly joins the A-Team to find answers about Toby. They figure out that there are at least two Red Coats, one of which is CeCe Drake, who claims to be helping Alison, who is alive, in danger, and also wearing a red coat.
Jessica is later murdered, and A is seen burying her body, but the identity of her killer is not revealed. Spencer notices the Big A spying on her, but disappears before Spencer can follow her. Later, one of the "minor A's" in a black hoodie is seen walking past Spencer's bathroom, while she is the shower. When Spencer tries to leave, she sees the message "A" left for her, and that "A" placed a plunger in between the handles of the shower, locking her in the steam room.
Aria would found her just before Spencer can pass out and saves her. The words "Deepest Sympathy" are on it. Out of Sight, Out of Mind. The episode begins with Spencer telling the Liars that Toby is part of the A-team. Spencer receives the wreath of flowers "A" was shown making in Hot Water, and she interprets coloration in the banner to mean that Emily is the next Liar "A" is targeting.
Meanwhile, Emily has a difficult time accepting Spencer's story. After repeatedly attempting to contact Toby, she receives a text from him and goes to the address indicated. Emily sees Red Coat walk into a warehouse, and when she goes inside she sees Toby's co-worker, whom she spoke to earlier, and he tells her no girl walked in before her.
When he uses Emily's name in conversation, she is taken aback. Emily returns to her car to find her driver's window smashed and a funeral program for Toby in the seat. Hanna finds Wilden's cop car in her garage. Inside the car, the laptop plays Ashley and Wilden's confrontation on a loop. After overhearing a phone call, Spencer follows Mona from the coffee shop into the woods, where she finds a corpse with a motorcycle helmet and Toby's tattoo.
Before she can pull off the helmet, Mona says, "he's dead," from somewhere nearby, and Spencer begins chasing her through the woods, eventually losing track of her.
Will The Circle Be Unbroken? I'm Your Puppet. Aria arrives at karate to pick up Malcolm and finds he has been picked up already, apparently by her, and there is a flyer for a carnival in his cubby. Aria rushes to the carnival and sees a hooded figure with Malcolm, but when she reaches Malcolm, the figure is gone. Malcolm tells her that her friend Alison was the one who picked him up.
It is revealed that Spencer accepted Mona's offer to join the "A-team" and was the one who took Malcolm to the carnival. Mona tells Spencer in the Lair that they like her plan.
Spencer spies on Jenna as "A. Toby reveals that he does not know who the A-team leader is. Spencer sets up a way for the Liars to figure out she is part of the A-team, and the Liars set up a way to confront her about it. They devise their own plan for the Thornhill Lodge party. At Thornhill Lodge, Mona, in black A-attire, talks on the phone with someone, telling the person "it's safe to land" and "you're finally getting what you've always wanted.
Meanwhile, Spencer sees a blonde in a Red Coat get out of a plane and walk towards the Lodge. Later the Liars see Ali, who apparently pulled them from the fire. The Liars plus Mona arrive in Rosewood after escaping the fire and find Wilden's police car, freshly pulled from the lake, parked in front of the church.
The laptop inside plays on loop, showing the scene between Ashley and Wilden, then skipping to later that hour as Shana and Jenna arrive to help Wilden. The Liars open the trunk of the car and gasp. The next video is of Noel and Garrett talking. The hooded figure zooms in on the mystery woman emerging from the dressing room and nods. The last video is of Lucas and the "baby face" talking.
The figure rewinds and zooms in on an individual passing in the background, wearing a red hooded trenchcoat like Vivian Darkbloom 's and black boots. The "A" Train. Darren's face is shown but just as Melissa's is about to be revealed, "A" begins deleting all of Mona's files. It has also reveled that "A" gave five little girls dolls of the liars. The girls tell the liars that their friend Alison gave them the dolls. At Darren's funeral, a woman dressed in black with a veil over her face is in attendance.
She sits behind Jenna and Nigel during the service. Afterward, she quickly gets into a limo and leaves. She is later shown in a lair. She lifts the veil revealing an "Ali mask. The Liars and Mona go to where they left the lair and find it missing. When Mona manages to get out of the car, "A" jumps in the driver's seat and tries to run over Mona, Emily, and Aria, and Emily injures her shoulder on a rock while diving out of the way.
Toby reveals to Spencer that he gave the lair to "A" in exchange for information about his mother's death. He shows Spencer the file "A" gave him, which includes notes from her last session with her psychiatrist at Radley, which occurred the same day as her supposed suicide. Later, Spencer finds Tippi's cage empty and the window open, and they assume "A" broke in and freed Tippi.
At the end of the episode, we see "A" in Mona's old lair, wearing the traditional black hoody and feeding caged Tippi a piece of meat.
Hanna worries that "A" is planning on making her mom look guilty for Wilden's murder. Later, Toby remarks to Spencer that "A" has always "felt like a 'she. After Emily's mom and Emily make a scene in front of the school, Aria receives a text from "A" saying, "Cleaning up Rosewood, one mean mommy at a time.
Dig we must. Kisses -A. Emily immediately assumes "A" was the person who called Family Services. Towards the end of the episode, Emily gets a message from "A" of a picture of her mom, edited to make her look like she is behind prison bars. At the end of the episode, "A" puts on a record of the song "Dry Bones" and looking at an X-ray of Emily's shoulder.
Upon returning home after the conversation with Melissa on the pier, Spencer receives a text reading, "Melissa is guilty of plenty but she's not 'A' material. At the end of the episode, "A" is shown gluing together the broken pieces of Melissa's mask casting, having apparently fished them out of the lake.
Ella is attacked by bees "A" apparently trapped under the front hood of her car so they would fly in through the vents. Aria receives a text right after she sees the attack that says, "This is just the first taste of my venom. Kisses — A. After "A" apparently calls the cops on Hanna while she is at Cicero trying to bury the gun she found in Ashley's closet, Spencer receives a text that says, "Just a friendly tip.
Maybe Hanna and her mom can share a lawyer. Kisses —A. At the end of the episode, "A" is shown in Mona's old lair, dusting off a picture of Carla Grunwald, the former house mother of the sorority Emily and Spencer visited. Emily tells Hanna that maybe it's time to tell her mom and dad about "A," but Hanna receives a text from A with the warning, "You bark, I bite.
Say my name, they BOTH get the blame. Later Toby refuses to tell the Liars why he gave the lair away because he is afraid "A" won't give him any more information about his mom.
Emily attempts to anonymously turn in the hard drive from the laptop of Wilden's car, hoping the video of Jenna and Shana helping Wilden will lead the police to new suspects in Wilden's murder, even though Hanna is worried "A" will retaliate if they do. Emily leaves the drive on Lt. Tanner that the video must be a prank. In the final scene, "A" breaks into and hot wires a car, and we see that "A" is wearing an Emily mask, a brown hoodie, and brown leather gloves. Crash and Burn, Girl!

After seeing Jessica is upstairs in her bedroom, Red Coat undrills a small door on the side of the DiLaurentis house and goes into a crawl space.

Palmer's car. Against Spencer's warning, Toby goes to the address to check it out, but it turns out to be a set up, with the police arriving just after he attempts to break into the car. CeCe Drake is shown in a black hoodie although her heels and black skinny jeans are not typical A attire , listening to Aria and Ezra talk from outside his apartment door, and it is assumed that CeCe Drake is on the A-Team. A package is delivered to Spencer's house whiles the Liars are hanging out there.
They open it and find a small white coffin, and inside is a doll that represents Mona. They receive yet another package, which appears to be an empty, black, wooden box. Spencer finds a trick door in the box, and written on a handsaw inside is, "Watch me make a girl disappear. Sleight of hand. Kisses Bitches, -A. As the girls unsuccessfully try to open the box, Red Coat runs out and presses a button on the control panel that stops the belt motion and turns off the saws.
A second Red Coat wearing an Ali mask runs is seen running upstairs, and Aria chases after. Aria is unable to save CeCe from falling over the ledge, and CeCe's body vanishes when the Liars look away for less than 4 seconds.
Spencer follows Red Coat who turned off the saws to an apartment nearby in Ravenswood. The apartment is assumed to be Big A's lair, and we see Ezra storm in at the end of the episode although later it is revealed Ezra's Lair is not connected to the A-team.
It is revealed that Mona had helped Ali when she ran away from Carla Grunwald. Mona used her powers of persuasion and manipulation to convince Ali that she should disappear. In the room next to where Mona is nursing Ali back to health, we see Mona in A's lair humming and stroking a doll whilst saying 'pretty girl.
Later on in present day 'A' is searching for the liars and Ali there are shots as 'A' tries to reach the girls with a gun. They then disappear whilst the girls are running up the stairs, however, they come back through a door on the roof just as Ezra also appears.
Ezra attempts to tackle 'A' whilst the gun is being shot, the gun then falls from 'A's hands and Hanna is able to retrieve it. Hanna and Aria demand that 'A' takes off their mask, however 'A' has other plans and jumps from the current building to another then looks back at the girls and leaves with their mask still intact. We find out that 'A' has shot Ezra when Ezra collapses with a gunshot wound.
At the end of the episode, we see 'A' dragging a dead Mrs. DiLaurentis to a grave and burying her. EscApe From New York. A is revealed to be Shana by Ezra at the hospital when Aria awakens him. Shana is attempting to kill the Liars excluding Aria at the theater when Aria makes it there.
She picks up the prop shotgun that was previously examined by Hanna in the same episode. Shana shoots the gun into the air and Aria takes this opportunity to hit her with the shotgun which causes Shana to fall off of the stage and die. At the end of the episode, Big A blows up Toby and Jenna's house and as one last reminder that she's back and here to stay she sends the Liars an all too familiar text.
The scene then cuts to "A" in her lair with an open box of pizza next to her and a load of packed boxes everywhere seeing as she's moving into a new apartment. She adjusts a police radio and then moves to a box where she picks up a doll representing Alison and positions it against a dollhouse. Big A attacks Alison in her living room after she attempts to leave Rosewood. She hits Alison from behind with a Fireplace Poker and then strangles her with her own Scarf. She strangles Ali into unconsciousness before stopping and dropping her on the floor.
Big A is about to leave when Emily walks in and tackles her, they get into a struggle but "A" manages to break free and escape. The Silence of E. She opens it and finds an invitation to Ella and Zack's engagement party. Big A takes a picture of it, before placing it back in the envelope and re-sealing it. Big A is seen locking Spencer and Emily in a stable with a horse that gets spooked by the thunderstorm going on outside.
It goes wild and ends up nearly seriously injuring Spencer. At the end of the episode, she is seen walking through Spencer's bedroom, examining her riding helmet. She goes over to Spencer's couch, turning over a cushion that reveals a secret compartment. She opens it and what is inside is not shown. Welcome to the Dollhouse. A kidnaps the Liars on their way to prison and place in a dollhouse like a prison where they find Mona is alive and A is named Charles.
In the dollhouse, is a room where Charles has a video with Jessica DiLaurentis three other children; one of them believed to be Charles. After the girls attempt to escape the dollhouse, Charles punishes them by leaving them outside the compound for days before letting them back in and separating them for three weeks.
Just as Alison, herself, comes to the dollhouse, the girls fight back again. This time they force "Charles" to let them go by burning all of his treasures inside his vault. It is also revealed that he kept Sara Harvey in the dollhouse for two years.
Songs of Experience. Charles sends Emily a face-chat request. When she answers the call, Charles films Sara Harvey sleeping and holds a knife near her head. A threatening message appears on Emily's screen to leave Anne Sullivan 's office or else someone will die. Charles puts a note in a darkroom in Hollis where Aria goes. The note is attached to a hair dye bottle and says "You're MY doll, bitch. Aria remembers that Charles cut her hair and made her dye it in the dollhouse.
Game Over, Charles. After Charlotte's funeral, a car is shown leaving the church, but we cannot see who is in that car. It is believed to be the new 'A'. Hush, Hush, Sweet Liars. After kidnapping Hanna, Uber A sends a message signed with "A. Uber A sends the girls a board game, making them take turns and earn puzzle pieces during 7B. Farewell, My Lovely. After the girls find out that Mona killed Charlotte, Uber A ends the board game.
