Additionally, there are a lot of grinding quests here, making it comparable to Tanaris in that respect. However, one advantage Feralas has is that there's less interfaction PVP involved, because the hubs of both factions are clear cut and the players aren't homogenized like in Tanaris.
Comment by The yetis of Feralas are great for grinding your leatherworking, as they drop silver and can also be skinned. There is a pretty wide level range on them, and there are also a few quests involving the yetis as well. What more could you want?
Comment by Question: Is there anything else on the Isle of Dread? Comment by Zeneva Well is a lvl 38 lock ready to go there? Comment by Helperextreme, you are wrong. The Night Elves are an ancient Race, wich developed by the interference of magic energys in the old Land of Kalimdor, over years ago.
Comment by whats the quickest way to feralas if ur on Alliance? Comment by Druids and Shamans using Aquatic Form or Water Walking, respectively, can get from Feathermoon Stronghold to the mainland and vice versa faster than the boat can. Don't bother waiting for the boat, just hop in or on.
I would imagine that this would also work for Priests via their Levitate spell. Comment by The Isle of the Dread seems to have all kinda 62 elite baddies. Is there any use for this part of the map?
For those wondering how to get at the middle section of the island: There are at least 2 paths. One on the south east side, and on the mid-east side of the island. Comment by Tamer Rogues A few of the quests from feathermoon stronghold see's you fighting with the naga of the island its a perfect time to lvl your lockpicking with the art of pick pocketing as they carry strudy junk boxes. I managed to lvl my lockpicking while killing from the quests up 20 points.
Comment by Piroko From what I remember and what I see here in the quest section, this seems like the perfect zone. I like this zone, its nice, especially the Grimtotem Taurens Quest chain and the Ogre's are really nice to level up on. All in all I recommend this zone if you like a fair bit of grinding and easy quests. If these aren't your thing, the more "collect this, retrieve that" quests in this level bracket are in Tanaris.
I myself like to make a mix of both zones to not get bored, they are not far away too so that's a good bonus! Good luck! Comment by Xarlequin I found it hard to get the map for Sardor island The one which Feathermoon stronghold is located on. Therefor I decided to post the cords for where to get the map "explored". The cords are: 32, Graveyard is in Feathermoon stronghold. You won't enjoy the walk. Comment by I found this place to be an excellent alternative to Stranglethorn Vale for the Horde for quite a while.
I think STV may have more quests but the rate at which you get them done here is much faster mostly due to the fact that after completing just about every quest here, I was never ganked once, speeds things up quite a bit. The only Ally I ever saw here was fishing, and didn't even take notice of my existence. Scenery is beautiful, but don't focus your eyes on the map while traveling, as the terrain can be misleading and you'll hit a lot of raised terrain you can't cross or piles of mobs.
Great zone. Comment by Mydge Dear Blizz. Public transport here blows. Install a freaking bridge already, my plate is rusting! Comment by Erinyes Feralas is an excellent zone for those leveling using the Recruit-a-Friend bonuses triple mob xp and triple quest xp when recruit account and veteran account level together.
On first glance when you arrive at Feathermoon Stronghold, there don't seem to be many quests, but the two main chains for the Night Elves, the naga and the silithids, will yield nearly a level's worth of experience on quest turn-ins alone.
Combined with the quests for the goblin near the Feralas boat dock and that damnable yeti hide quest, you'll easily gain two levels. Here's the quests to which I'm referring: 1. The goblin's quests start at Zorbin Fandazzle. Note this post refers only to Alliance side quests. I remember doing this area on Horde side, and it was chockful of good quests.
The great thing on Alliance side is that you can concentrate on a few quests in one or two areas and get tons of XP from quest turn-ins. Might be same on Horde. Comment by I gotta say this is one of the more aesthetic zones in the game. There's a waterfall southwest of Dire Maul that looks real nice, and if you go to the southern part of the Forgotten Shore and look north and a little west, you get a great view of the sun setting or rising?
Comment by Deimoz Got to say one of my favorite area in the game. So many interesting things and exploring, waterfalls, twin colossals etc. Comment by IF you are an alliance player and walking from needles watch out for the Horde place they got high lvl guards there. The path leads down and to the SW you'll see a dock. This brings you to Feathermoon Stronghold which is a Night Elf place. The gryphon master is around the NW part. There's a bunch of quests and there's also a goblin at the dock on the mainland that gives a couple more level 48 quests. Hope that helps because even after reading the earlier posts I didn't know where to go.
So far the place looks dead besides a couple horde running by and 2 Alliance that had no clue where they were either. Comment by Thottbot Is there any damn anvil in Feralas? There's none in Camp Mojache. Comment by Thottbot The levels to feralas are about , as said on the thottbot board.
To actually get to Feralas: You can go south from Desolace the entrance to Feralas is near Gelkis Village - this is better for those wanting to grind on the higher level creatures. You can also go northwest from Thousand Needles - this route is near the Horde Camp Mojache and the lower level creatures. This is a good area to grind in, there are very few people who go there and it has a decent range of creatures to fight.
Many of the quests also involve killing creatures. Comment by Thottbot Does anyone have the position of the Yetis? And what level would it be good to start grinding on them? I picked up the Flight path on The Feathermoon Stronghold, got some of the quests there and got going right away. The first quests are easy; some, you have to kill yetis and take their fur.
Others, you have to kill some ogres. The loot kinda sucked, because i only got maybe silver per kill, and if i got lucky, some mageweave cloth. If you are a Skinner, or a Herbalist, then this area is the perfect area for you to train. I did like 4 quests, and now I am a level What I noticed, was that most of the quest rewards are leather. If you can wear leather, then good, because some of the rewards from turning in the quests are pretty nice.
Feralas is not visited by many; 1 Either because people think theres not much there. It is a very good place to train, and i would advise you to go there if you are between the levels 43 - Lowaan, Madoran Server. Comment by Thottbot Nice place to go around lvl 42, there are good q's, though it takes a lot of walking. I combined questing in Feralas and Tanaris, so I always had enough yellow q's I spent a lot of time looking for the flight points, Thalanaar 88,45 is near the border with thousand needles, beware, it just looks like 2 nelfs and a shrine Then there is feathermoon 30,44 , which is reachable with a boat 43, Oh, beware of the horde camp 75,44 when traveling through Feralas :P.
GL, hope it was useful. Comment by Thottbot Dream boroughs and Onerios are close to each other.. Comment by Thottbot never quested here and working on my exploration..
Comment by Thottbot i totally loved this place. Comment by Allakhazam All I see is a weird green portal and a bunch of? Jademir Bodyguard Dragonkin mobs Anyone know wtf is in there? Comment by Allakhazam Cause you will spend a lot of time there. Don't wear good gear. Unequip your weapons and just RUN!. I started out in Auberdine at level 16 and til i got to Dire Maul.. I was I died alot.
My gear was 0. But i made it to Stronghold and got all the FP's on the way. I'm heading for Gadgetzen as we speak. Nadhia the Nutty. Level 17 NE Hunter. Comment by Allakhazam I am confused. How do you get to Feathermoon Stronghold? I am only level 33, can I get there? There is a flight path but I cannot find a boat. I have made it as far as Nigels point. Comment by Allakhazam no I was lvl 19 warrior and there was no problem.
There are 38 wolf and i can kill it easily. Comment by Allakhazam What an adventure I had finding this place last night! I had to go here to become a master alchemist and I met a girl in desolace who was a lock too, she decided to come along for the adventure and let me tell it you was awesome!
Luckily my shadow oil potions sold as we were traveling or else I wouldn't have had the gold to even pay for master alchemist training lol. And I found a spot to fish for stonescale eel which rocks! Comment by Allakhazam Any way to get to the Stronghold at level 30?
Or do I need to wait 10 levels or so? Comment by Allakhazam There is a boat that takes you to the island. Follow the road to the west coast and you can ride it over. Comment by Allakhazam where is the map of here?
Comment by Allakhazam Isn't there a map of this place. Comment by Allakhazam How I can enter to this location? Comment by Allakhazam This is a pretty dangerous place, and there isn't a whole lot to reward you for braving it. The island is set up like a mountainous valley with a few Elvish ruins on the northwest shore. He is level 47 and dropped nothing interesting the two times I killed him, but I'm sure he'd be better as part of Against Lord Shizaru. There are several Mithril deposits in the cave, but literally nothing else on the island.
I saw no mining nodes and ran across no herbs. I suppose the only reason to go would be if you really wanted to fight some nasty Chimerae, or if you were skinning them for leatherworking, or if you were making Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops. Enter from the east side, coordinates 33, The valley goes through to 35, 88 on the southeast corner of the island.
Monsters include Arcane Chimaerok : level Elite Chimaerok Devourer : level Elite Chimaerok : level Elite Lord Lakmaeran : level Elite I understand that their main attack is Nature based, so go with good protection against that if you go at all.
The island fairly screams "To be expanded in a future content patch.
